Public Speaking Course:
Heirloom Handouts
If you want the people in your audience to not throw away your handouts as
soon as they walk out the door, you must use the skills taught in my public
speaking course. You have to give them a reason to keep it, so they won't just
throw it away. You can accomplish this by puttingt key reference material chosen
for that audience on EVERY SINGLE PAGE of your handout.
The reference items you can use might be website addresses, important phone
numbers, book titles, or funny material like cartoons that apply to the
audience's industry. Using what you learned in your public speaking course means
that the information isn't put on one page at the back of the handout where that
page can be torn off and the rest thrown away.
Don't forget to put your contact information on every single page to make sure
they have a copy in case they decide tot keep only one page.
